The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, which was developed and adopted at a sensitive and crucial time for the Tajik nation, today is recognized as one of the best constitutions in the world.

Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon called the Constitution the supreme law of the country to protect the aspirations of the people: “The Constitution as the supreme law of the country reflects the will of the people of Tajikistan on inviolability, territorial integrity, democracy, rule of law. secular and social development of the state ”.

At the historic 16th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, which was held in November 1992 in Khujand, the need for the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was discussed. The draft Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was established.

The full draft of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was prepared on April 13, 1993 and submitted for public discussion by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan and adopted by citizens on November 6, 1994 by referendum.

In fact, the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan determines the future of our state and nation. According to Article 6, in the Republic of Tajikistan the people are the expression of sovereignty and the sole source of state power, which they exercise directly or through their deputies. The active participation of the people in the election of deputies to the country's parliament in March and the election of the President of the country on October 11 this year is a sign of sovereignty and the rule of law in the country, provided by the Constitution.
With the adoption of the Constitution of Tajikistan, a great change has taken place in the history of the Tajik national statehood. Adoption of the Constitution has played a significant historical role in the establishment and formation of the Tajik national statehood, its connection with the world community, protection of national and state interests, ensuring peace and stability, national unity and human rights and freedoms.
Indeed, the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan reflects the aspirations of the Tajik people and provides a favorable and reliable legal basis for the stability of constitutional power, strengthening the pillars of national statehood, political, economic, social and cultural achievements, civil society, pluralism. One of the potentials of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan is the principle of humanity, as evidenced by the recognition of human rights and freedoms as the highest value.

For the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan in our society today, it is necessary to raise the legal and political awareness of citizens. It is observed that today the people of Tajikistan are more active than in previous years, and their political and legal education has significantly increased.

Chapter 10 and 100 articles of the Constitution reflect all aspects of respect for human and civil rights and freedoms and provide a legal basis. The Constitution once again heralds to the world the full independence of the Tajik state and nation, and it regulates the political, economic, social and cultural relations of society.
Thanks to the Constitution, citizens have been able to repeatedly participate in and elect the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the country. It is the Constitution that defines the main elements of modern statehood of Tajikistan, especially democracy, sovereignty, rule of law, secular, unity and social, which symbolizes the unity of the Tajik nation, the unity of different segments of society, a new stage in building the Tajik nation called peace and stability. peace and has become a new page of history.
The Constitution plays an important role in the development of the Tajik national statehood, so respect for and appreciation of the Constitution should become a habit of every citizen. Because it embodies the political, legal and spiritual essence of the state.
“We, the people of Tajikistan, are an integral part of the world community, consider ourselves responsible and accountable to past, present and future generations, recognize the sovereignty and development of our state, sanctify individual freedoms and rights, and promote equality and friendship of all nations and peoples. We recognize and make it our duty to build a just society and adopt and declare this Constitution! ” - It is stated on the first page of the Constitution and the sacred duty of each of us to put into practice and observe these words.
