Shirinsho Shokhtemur (1899-1937) – statesman and party leader. 1929-1931 Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Tajik SSR, 1933-1937 Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Tajik SSR. He was unjustly executed. In 2006 he was awarded the title of Hero of Tajikistan.
